Trailhouse Talk: Understanding Ourselves So We Can Understand Our Kids

A free evening exploring how our own nervous systems shape the way we connect with and support the children in our lives.

Time & Location

Aug 18, 2026, 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Trailhouse, 11303 Park Rd, Anchorage, KY 40223, USA

About the event

We're inviting parents and educators from our broader community to join us for an evening of learning and connection.

Before we can help our kids regulate, we have to understand what's happening in our own bodies and minds. At this event, you'll get a window into the same framework Trailhouse therapists and Walden School teachers are building together this year — and walk away with real tools you can actually use.

We'll explore:

  • How our nervous systems work and why that matters for the kids around us

  • What regulation really means, and why it's the foundation of learning, behavior, and connection

  • What it means to be a co-regulator — and how our own state shapes our children's
